My chat and Time Travel

Hello all,

Had a fabulous chat at www.authorapprentices.com today.  All about writing time travel and the vagaries of it.  Have you ever thought what you’d take back to the past, if you knew you weren’t going to come back to your own time?

Would it be food, clothing, medicine, toothpaste?  Toilet paper!

It’s an intersting thougth, one my hero from the past, Callum, who when returning to his own time (1532) decides to take chocolate back, and some sexy lingerie from Fredericks of Hollywood for his heroine!

My kinda guy.

Hope you’ve all had a fab day and writing and reading up a storm.

 regards

Jane

A new week, a new start

I really tried hard last week to get lots of writing done, but everything turned to custard.  Oh well, a new week this week.

But the exciting news is my new book – He’s The One  - is in the final editing stage and if you go to the link you’ll be able to read an excerpt.  It’s a fun, sexy read  and i’m very happy with it.   Another exciting bit of news is my time travel – Heartsong – is now being read by two US publishers.  Fingers crossed.

I hope you’re all challenging yourself.  Life is for goals and dreams.  Make sure you renew yours each day.

 Happy reading and writing everyone.

I’d love to hear from you – drop me a note.

regards

Life’s little bumps

Hiring CupidMorning all, Well it’s another beautiful day downuder her in New Zealand.  Although the same can’t be said about yesterday.  Had a phone call at 7 am from my sister saying mother had a nasty fall and was in hospital. So it was a 2 hour drive north in pouring rain to see her.  She’s fine, thankfully, but it got me thinking about plans and goals etc.

Last week I offered author Frances Housden a challenge.  We both wanted to get our WIP finished by the end of September.  So here we are racing from 1 Sept to 30 Sept to get it finished.  Day one was great 3500 words from me…then zilch.  Monday family stuff, Tuesday family stuff, Wednesday family stuff… and so life just simply got in the way and my mental schedule of how many words I wanted to write in one day had flown out the proverbial window. Oh well…life sure has bumps along the way, and we just have to pull our sock up and keep going don’t we.

I got a lovely thank you card this am.  I provided a basket of goodies, my book Hiring Cupid of course in there as well for the winner, and they just gave me a thank you card, which was nice.   Am so thrilled with this book.

Here’s part of a reivew…

Hiring Cupid by Jane Beckenham is one of the most entertaining books I’ve read recently. It is a delight, and I know I’ll read it again in the near future, just to experience this love story again.

Off with a roar…says the mouse!

Well yesterday’s experiment was rather grand actually if I do say so myself.  However, you know what they say about great starts…well yes, that’s right, today was a pitiful squeak rather than a roar. Woke this a.m. with a doozy of a headache.  Don’t ya just hate that.  Pain in the eyes, head – felt like it everywhere, but still had to take 19yo daughter to a specialist appointment and be attenttive mommy.  I managed, then took myself off for one of those chinese massages at the mall.  Joy, bliss, totally yummy for this mummy.

Then off to bed with a couple of asprin and a CLOSED door. Do not disturb me unless the house is burning down.

So here we are, a new day, a new bloggie blurb from me about nothing in particular, though my bloggie friends tell me that nothing in particular is just fine, just not too often, so now i will away and think up bloggie fabulous for tomorrow, and go back to bed.  Hope y’all having  superalivtive day, that you’ve got a good book to read (cough cough… i cud recommend some!, go on, ask me, ask me), and anyway, i’ll be back on the morrow.

Let me know what you’re reading, always looking out for a great book, or movie.  Anyone seen Hairspray with John Travolta!

 Happy reading and writing

Alive and ticking in the 21st century – just

How hard should it be?  Easy peasy?  Well, for a techno-bimbo like me, it’s gray hair and hair loss material, but hey, i’m getting there.  I’d love to know you can actually read whatever diatribe i’m babbling, so do let me know.  And now… back to writing my WIP – an historical set in late 1600s in England when the French were kicking out the Huguenots.

Ah…love… aint it grand, it at least saves me from having to think too hard about computers and bits and bytes and stuff.

 happy days

Hello world!

Oh, my goodness, i’ve actually managed to create a blog…let’s just hope i can continue to figure out how to add a comment.  Life is so not easy for the untechnie’s of this world, don’t you think.  Now, i’ve gotta figure out the friends thing too.  But hey, it’s kinda fun playing when i should be writing.  Coz that’s what i do.  I write. Books – romance novels, where life maybe hard for a while, but love overcomes all things.  Wouldn’t that be nice.

So okay, for now, i gotta make sure this all does what it’s supposed to do.  Hopefully I can even find someone to read it LOL

 happy reading and writing

Jane Beckenham.
